Dr. Mark Worthington Announces Retirement

Dear Friends and Patients,

It has been a privilege and a pleasure to practice dentistry in my wonderful community for over 40 years.  I would sincerely like to thank each and every one of you for trusting me with your dental care and your health.  It’s been an honor to treat you, your children and your grandchildren.  It’s given me great joy to share in your lives, the lives of your families and to develop deep friendships throughout the years.  My gratitude has no measure.

With that, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Daniel McMaster will be joining our dental team.  My wife, Wendy, and I have known that one day we would retire but we didn’t know exactly when.  The priority has been finding the right person to take over my practice and to carry on the legacy that I’ll be leaving behind.  I’ve been approached by many dentists over the past few years that were interested in my practice should I be ready to retire, but none seemed to be quite the right fit.  When I met Dr. McMaster and his lovely family, I knew I’d found that right person!  He shares my practice philosophy and delivers exceptional patient care with compassion and skill.  He will be assuming our practice this month (September 17, 2020) and I have complete confidence that you will continue to get the great treatment that you’ve come to expect.  I’ll be assisting Dr. McMaster and our wonderful staff during this transition.  Dr. McMaster is currently treating me and doing my full mouth restoration.  I can attest first hand that he is an excellent and skilled practitioner and I have total confidence that you’ll feel the same.  And I must say, he reminds me of myself except he’s younger, smarter and better looking.

Dr. McMaster was born in Utah, but raised in Oregon.  He grew up in the Portland Metro area where he graduated from high school, received a Bachelor’s of Science from Portland State University and went on to receive his doctorate of Dental Medicine from Oregon Health and Science University of Dentistry.  He’s worked in a federally qualified health center and then went on to private practice dentistry in Cottage Grove in 2018.

He met his wife, Katharin, in high school and they’ve been happily married for 13 years.  They have three children: Ruby (7), Linus (4) and Oscar (6 month’s).

In his free time, Dr. McMaster enjoys playing basketball, listening to a good audiobook, but most of all, he loves spending time with his family!  He believes in treating patients with care and understanding and is committed to providing quality dental treatment to the community of Eugene/Springfield.

I know you will give Dr. McMaster the same opportunity that you gave me to provide you with compassionate and high-quality dental care.  And I am certain you will love getting to know Dr. McMaster and his family as you did me and mine.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Mark L. Worthington, DMD
